new years resolutions for 2009

i normally do not have, nor make, any type of resolutions for myself for the new years that have come and gone, so this year i have decided (for once) to make a list of resolutions that i'm hoping to keep up with and make it a habit. therefore, here is my list of resolutions for 2009:
  1. start cooking dinner. i usually make jason make dinner because he's good at it and he seems to love it. i just hate making the effort to cook, but i'm going to have to start sometime...
  2. eat out less. totally draining money out of my wallet; therefore, another reason why i need to start doing no. 1.
  3. CLEAN my room & jason's room every day. ugh. we're messy/lazy people. this resolution is going to be a toughie.
  4. work out. i know this a common resolution for most people, but i want to try to work out every other day.  i hope the espiritu's will still have their gym open, the motivation from friends helps out a lot (i'm hoping they will have their gym open every other day... lol).
  5. start saving money. i do this already, but i find myself touching my savings account when i'm running low in the checking account.
  6. go to church. jason and i are pretty good at doing this, when it's NOT football season; therefore, i'm going to try to go with jason's mom in the mornings while he is praying at the Q.
  7. make a donation. not too sure where yet, but it can't be for places that SDCCU sponsors for already, and that i've made donations in the past. i'm going to make a new donation... TBD.
  8. go green. i got this awesome gift from care & mark for the white elephant gift exchange with all sorts of "go green" items. i'm going to use the reusable utensils & cloth when/if jason and i go out to eat. i will use the "recyclable" bags that i normally use to keep my yarn/projects in, to go shopping... so on and so forth with no. 8.
  9. read and finish the harry potter series.
  10. finish all my damn knitting and crocheting projects that are sitting in my closet.

off guard.

has there ever been a time when you know someone inside and out, and you KNOW exactly what they are thinking, know exactly what they are going to say, know exactly what they are going to do, so on and so forth? well, that happened to me on friday.

i really thought i knew jason. what he would say and do, even what he was thinking. he completely caught me off guard, and i am really glad that he did. sometimes surprises are the best way to keep things exciting :)

so here's what happened...

earlier during the week, my mom told me that there was a possibility that she was going to be kicking out the kids that are living in the san marcos condo by the end of the month or next. she told me that they have gotten numerous of notices and warnings that the kids' noisy level is too loud and that they have been leaving the trash cans out for a long period of time; therefore, leading to my mom asking if jason and i would like to move in.

of course i'm all in for it, but "knew" jason was going to decline it. we've talked about it several times in the past, so i knew that he was going to say no. here are a few reasons why i knew he was going to decline:
  1. he can't afford it;
  2. i can't afford it; and
  3. too far for him to drive from there to work and back

but, i told my mom that i would ask anyway; just because i wanted to get the conscience out of her head knowing that i at least asked.

so friday rolls around the corner and jason had a half day off from work and we go get some lunch. i bring up it up to him, and pretty much telling it to him as if we discussed it before (so pretty null and boring). and to my surprised he looked interested and started to ask questions like,

"how much is the monthly payment on their mortgage?"
"how much would they charge us for rent?"
"well, i could afford this much... but be tight on cash... but i can afford this much... and have some cash"
"will we have furniture? did your sister take the couch? what about the dinning table?"

the conversation lasted for at least a good hour and a half, but i did have to call my mom to get more information on payments and all that jazz. i was shocked that he was very interested in it and yet very excited about it.

the only thing that jason and i have to wait for is either for the kids to screw up again and get evicted or wait until march because that's when their lease is up, and my mom isn't willing to renew their lease once its up.

jason and i are hoping to wait until march so we can start saving up for the rent and utilities. we just want enough for some cushion... JUST IN CASE something happens or what-not.

sick&sad.

great. i REALLY hate being sick. the weather change keeps screwing up with my immune system. i drank airbourne all day yesterday, i even wrapped myself up last night to sweat it off, and yet i'm sicker today than i was yesterday! now i need to go to wal-mart to get me some day&nyquil. i'm going to try to go to the gym after class today so i can try to sweat more out, but i'm afraid of collapsing or fainting.

anyway, today i'm also feeling a little blue. not too sure if it's the weather, me being sick, or the sad news jason came home with after his beer night with the boys. maybe its a mixture of all three.

errr, maybe i should just take a nap when i get home after class. that sounds healthier than working out right about now.

exhausted!

my lack of no rest from yesterday is kicking in today. i actually took a nap during my lunch break! well, only 30 mins. of my break, but it was a very nice nap. then jason calls me and asks if i wanted to go work out after work, i was debating on it... but i decided to go.

we went to the gym for a good hour, i think we were both too tired to continue on.

30 min. cardio
15 min. abs
15 min. arms

i did the legs yesterday, and boy are they sore! i'll feel the arms sometime tomorrow afternoon.

now i'm going to sleep because i'm THAT tired.

not tired.

have you ever had one of those days when you wake up and you know you're going to be on your feet all day? yea, that was my day today, and surprisingly i'm not tired. most of my day consisted of putting together jason's costume for halloween. about 4 hours to be exact.

anyway, jason and i just got back from the grocery store and realized that my cousins (ashley) made a really good point about shopping for groceries, "if you want to eat healthy, stay on the outter rim of the grocery store, don't go down the isles." and you know, she's right. as much as my favorite foods are in the isles, everything you need is on the outter rim of the grocery store! you got your milk/dairy, bread (in some grocery stores), beef/meats, seafood, veggies and fruits, and even though beer isn't listed as one of her "healthy" foods, it's on the outter rim! i, however, needed to get my favorite cereal, bran flakes! yum!

as for my diet plan today, i think i did well.
meal 1: coffee and 1/2 of a banana (errr, i wasn't too hungry and i was too busy worrying about my japanese exam)
meal 2: jason made tatter tots and turkey burgers
meal 3: jamba juice
meal 4: jason's mom's deep fried fish, no rice :(
meal 5: slurpee?! (i think i was doing well up until then, and i drank that AFTER i worked out =I)

as for my work out, i did as ashley told me. at least 30 min. cardio and 45 min. weights. not bad, not bad... for my first day :)

workout.

so, yesterday was my brother’s birthday/graduation party, what a blast i must say. a lot of family and friends = a lot of food, and lately i’ve been having issues trying to lose weight. it’s probably the lack of motivation and stress from school that i’ve been unable to workout at least 3-4 times a week, the least i’ve worked out is at least once a week. luckily my infamous cousin, ashley showed up to the party. she’s a contracted personal trainer for a gym in downtown. i got some awesome tips from her including some diet plans that i should try out. i’m determined to start the plan tomorrow. i’ve got a calendar and journal set for me to get started, i just need to start cooking rather than going out to eat most of the time.

old entries.

yesterday i decided to check out my xanga site, only because i haven't touched it since 2005.

i decided to start reading from the oldest post and work my way up. i couldn't believe how much i've changed since 2003. i was young, very naive, deeply obsessed, and way over myself to think that i was in love.

what was i to know? i was only 21. what kind of experiences did i go through before then? when you are at that age, you think you are "adult" enough to know what you are doing, when really, you don't. i'm 25 (going on 26 in a few days, ugh), and i don't think i have enough knowledge or experience to say, "i know what i'm doing." BUT... i do learn from my mistakes to tell myself, "i've done this before, let's or let's not do it again."

i believe my relationship with jason, thus this far, is a big improvement from whom i was in the past. i've learn to trust. i've learn to be patient. i've learn not to be THAT needy in a relationship. my life has become carefree and unstressful now than when i use to worry and pointing fingers to find someone to blame for my anger.

i'm not too sure what brought me to reading my old site, but i've decided to get rid of it because the past is the past. there's no need to go back to it when the memories that count the most are stored safely in my head.
