off guard.

has there ever been a time when you know someone inside and out, and you KNOW exactly what they are thinking, know exactly what they are going to say, know exactly what they are going to do, so on and so forth? well, that happened to me on friday.

i really thought i knew jason. what he would say and do, even what he was thinking. he completely caught me off guard, and i am really glad that he did. sometimes surprises are the best way to keep things exciting :)

so here's what happened...

earlier during the week, my mom told me that there was a possibility that she was going to be kicking out the kids that are living in the san marcos condo by the end of the month or next. she told me that they have gotten numerous of notices and warnings that the kids' noisy level is too loud and that they have been leaving the trash cans out for a long period of time; therefore, leading to my mom asking if jason and i would like to move in.

of course i'm all in for it, but "knew" jason was going to decline it. we've talked about it several times in the past, so i knew that he was going to say no. here are a few reasons why i knew he was going to decline:
  1. he can't afford it;
  2. i can't afford it; and
  3. too far for him to drive from there to work and back

but, i told my mom that i would ask anyway; just because i wanted to get the conscience out of her head knowing that i at least asked.

so friday rolls around the corner and jason had a half day off from work and we go get some lunch. i bring up it up to him, and pretty much telling it to him as if we discussed it before (so pretty null and boring). and to my surprised he looked interested and started to ask questions like,

"how much is the monthly payment on their mortgage?"
"how much would they charge us for rent?"
"well, i could afford this much... but be tight on cash... but i can afford this much... and have some cash"
"will we have furniture? did your sister take the couch? what about the dinning table?"

the conversation lasted for at least a good hour and a half, but i did have to call my mom to get more information on payments and all that jazz. i was shocked that he was very interested in it and yet very excited about it.

the only thing that jason and i have to wait for is either for the kids to screw up again and get evicted or wait until march because that's when their lease is up, and my mom isn't willing to renew their lease once its up.

jason and i are hoping to wait until march so we can start saving up for the rent and utilities. we just want enough for some cushion... JUST IN CASE something happens or what-not.
